untitled

An attractive, wholesome, young woman, JENNY, enters the living room.  She’s obviously in the late stages of pregnancy.  She leans over HENRY SENIOR, and kisses him.  He smiles at her. She pats his shoulder.

JOSH

That your step-mom?

HENRY

Her name’s Jenny.  Jenny the

Ninny, my mom calls her.  He

didn’t waste any time finding

himself somebody new.

JOSH

Your mom didn’t either.

JENNY sits down next to HENRY SENIOR, and they watch the nature show together.

HENRY

Mom was lonely.

JOSH

This isn’t real interesting.  How

long we going to stay here?

HENRY

Okay, I guess we can go.

JOSH

What did you want to see?

HENRY

I don’t know.  I wanted to see if

he was sad.  Mom’s always sad.  I

want to know he’s sad, too.

They’re walking back to their bikes.

JOSH

Your mom always seems pretty

happy to me.

HENRY

She’s not.  She’s not happy at

all.

JOSH

Was she happy before your dad left?

HENRY

No.

JOSH

What you got against your dad?

HENRY

Well, like right now.  My mom

needs money, and he won’t give

her any.

JOSH

Did he really get you banned

from the park?

HENRY

Pretty much.  He wouldn’t stand

up to Krebs.

JOSH

(ironically)

Yeah, Henry.  Your dad should have

shot him for complaining about you

blindsiding him.

They get on their bikes and start riding.

HENRY

Come on.  We’re going to go pay

Krebs a visit.

EXT.  TACO YUMMY   NIGHT

HENRY and JOSH are outside Taco Yummy, looking in through the big windows.  They can see HENRY’s sister, BRANDY, and KREBS.  There are only a couple of customers in the place.

KREBS is oily looking and flirting with BRANDY, who seems to tolerate him.

A gawky, pimply boy, EDWARD, is working the counter.

They all look ridiculous in their Taco Yummy uniforms, particularly the caps, which are designed to look like tacos.

HENRY

Look at that pervert.

JOSH

Your sister doesn’t seem to mind.

HENRY

She’s too stupid to mind.  She can’t

take care of herself.  She’s like retarded.

JOSH

She’s not in Special Ed, is she?

HENRY

She makes good grades.  She just doesn’t have any common sense.

That’s Krebs’ car.

HENRY points at a late-model Cadillac in a corner of the parking lot.

JOSH

Tacky.  If he had any taste, he’d have

a Jaguar.  If he had a Jaguar, we couldn’t be doing this.

HENRY

Come on.  Payback time.

They raise their paintball guns and aim at KREBS’ car.

HENRY

Fire!

They commence shooting paintballs at the car.  HENRY moves around the car to cover it as much as he can with paint.

The sound of the paintball guns attracts KREBS’ attention, and he comes out of Taco Yummy.

KREBS

Hey!  What’s going on?

EXT. STREETS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD   NIGHT

HENRY and JOSH bolt on their bikes.  They wave their guns in the air and shout.

EXT. THE WALES HOUSE   NIGHT

In front of HENRY’S house, JOSH and HENRY try to catch their breath and grin at each other.

JOSH

You think he saw it was us?

HENRY

Who cares?  That felt good.

JOSH

Okay, dude.  Guess I’ll see tomorrow.

HENRY

See ya.

JOSH (as he’s

riding away on his bike)
